About ServAsk™ , LLC
Our
mission: Elevate the microbusiness.
ServAsk™.com is owned
by ServAsk™, LLC, a Wisconsin Limited Liability Company.
We established in 2005.
The first inspiration for the concept of ServAsk™
came from one of our friends when she mentioned that she
advertises in the local newspaper (in Madison, WI) when she needs new
clients for piano lessons. We thought that surely there must be a
better way for the public to find home-based, microbusinesses
like piano teachers other than search through newspapers.
Shortly before and during that time frame, we
were wasting too much time trying to find highly specialized skills
for our
Delphinus, LLC microbusiness.
We found serious disadvantages to word-of-mouth leads. Instead, we
thought, wouldn't it be nice to have an Internet directory
that lists skills including lots of prior customer ratings based on things
like communication skills, quality of work, timeliness, and cost? It
occurred to us that other people must have trouble finding the services and
skills of microbusinesses as well. Since we are a couple of
entrepreneurial computer consultants ourselves, we then decided that ServAsk™
was worth our time, investment, and risk to develop.
We intend to build ServAsk™ so that it provides
helpful information and saves time for those seeking specific skills
and services of microbusinesses in their local area. Likewise, we are
building this website to help market the skills of (hopefully) hard
working, honest microbusinesses.
Microbusinesses are often the same as independent
contractors, self-employed, freelancers, free agents, SOHOs (small office home
office), micropreneurs, non-employers. However, you need not be
full-time. You could be retired or a stay-at-home parent or a student or
whatever, who works (or would like to work) on occasional, part-time
projects. Hence, from the full-time small business with a
few employees, to the part-time entrepreneur, ServAsk is the place to list
your skills and services.
We are currently working on new features. We
apologize if you run into technical errors or bugs. Feel free to email us
with problems and suggestions.
